Overview
First of all, the good news – if you can read this, you already have the skills and the equipment required to take part in our online classes. Still, you probably feel a little bit sceptical. You may even have a few questions jumping up and down in your head, like:
“So, how does this whole thing work?”
Our virtual lectures are similar in many aspects to classroom lectures: you have a presenter, participants, whiteboard and presentation screen, you can “raise your hand” and ask a question, you can be called on by the presenter to answer a question. You can have a group discussion or a short assignment to work on and you can be asked to take a test, just like in a regular class.
“What is the difference then?”
First of all, you don’t need to leave your home to take part in our training, nor does the presenter. Which means, we can bring together more experts and learners from all over the world than a conventional classroom seminar would allow. You can interact with the colleagues not just from your country or state, but from across the globe.
“But what about the ice?”
Well, we cannot teleport you to an ice rink (just yet!), but can do the next best thing – support each class with video clips and pictures that illustrate the key points of the lectures, demonstrate exercises or help you to analyse a particular skating element.
“All right, so how do I take part?”
First you need to create a customer account. You can do that by clicking “Login” at the top right corner of the page and then following the instructions for a new user.
Once you created an account you can browse our online store and select a lecture that you would like to attend. You can check the available times and dates by using the drop-down menu. Please note that all lecture start times are Greenwich Mean Time. (If you live in New York, for instance, you will need to subtract 5 hours).
When you have selected the lecture and checked that the spaces are available, you can go through checkout and payment. After your payment is authorised, we will create a booking for you and send you session login instructions within 24 hours following your order.
“And then what?”
Just follow the login instructions in your e-mail to join the online session and teleconference. It is always a good idea to make sure beforehand that your computer satisfies the technical requirements. If you still feel a bit confused, why not take part in one of our free live tutorials, or drop us a line at customer.service@elitalive.com? We would be delighted to answer any questions you may have.
