10 Buying tips

If you're thinking about buying coaching or building your points, here are 10  suggestions from us on how to get the best:
  1. choose the programme that is most suitable for your needs and budget
  2. try to get video support in your coaching (so you can really study your work closely)
  3. make sure your programme is up to date and complies with NCCP and IJS (to keep up)
  4. get into a flexible programme to suit your own speed and availability (internet tutorals and recorded seminars are great for this)
  5. get the most specialised learning materials you can, and appropriate to your standard (ie modern  schemas, moves, and videos)
  6. try to get into a good compatible group (learning with others is often more effective, especially online)
  7. choose your location so you spend more time skating, less time travelling (of course internet programmes cut travel time to zero)
  8. keep your budget trim so you can spend more on the things you really need (online learning is often cheaper)
  9. look for good network connections - people who can introduce you to the right opportunities (digital networks are usually a little bigger)
  10. expect your coach to listen - so he can increase effectiveness as he goes (and always push your coach for more!)
