Description
Dartfish is one of the most popular video analysis software packages among tech-savvy skating coaches. This webinar deals with using the software to assist video feedback to skating students. You’ll learn how to use Dartfish live in a lesson, as well as how to exploit its advanced analysis and publishing capabilities.
Skating coach Chris Conte is a recognised expert in the use of Dartfish for video feedback. He has used it to trouble shoot jumps and enhance techniques for US Olympians Tim Goebel, Sasha Cohen and Emily Hughes. One of the first figure skating coaches to implement this technology in the United States, Chris also serves as an authorised sales representative and trainer for the company.
Dartfish allows coaches to capture video with unparalleled ease using a remote control, DV camera, and a laptop computer. The computer allows coaches to store and analyse vast amounts of video material quickly and give appropriate feedback almost instantly. This speeds the learning process and creates a safer learning environment as multiple measurements can be accurately tracked. You can then publish the video to CDROM, DVDROM, or by email. This makes consulting and distance learning a snap.
If you’re unfamiliar with Dartfish, take a look at Chris’s article, “Fishing for Better Jumps” in PSA magazine (Jan 2007), or visit www.dartfish.com. If you’re unfamiliar with video feedback techniques for skating training, it is recommended that you take Chris’s course on the subject before moving on to the Dartfish course
